About Nadine
A specialist dyslexia assessor with senior SEND and classroom experience.
I am a Specialist Dyslexia Assessor and qualified teacher based in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside. I hold a current Assessment Practising Certificate and provide diagnostic dyslexia assessments for children and young people.
I qualified as a teacher in 2009 and have extensive experience working in education and Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) , including senior leadership as Assistant Principal and Head of SEND in an Outstanding school. My background means that I understand how learning difficulties can present in the classroom, how they can affect confidence, and how the right support can make a real difference.

My teaching and SEND leadership experience shapes the way I assess, understand each child’s profile and write recommendations.
A good assessment should look beyond scores. It should help parents, schools and young people understand the child’s strengths, the areas they find difficult, and the support that may help them move forward with confidence.
My reports are written to be clear, practical and useful at home and in school.

Calm, supportive and child-centred
I know that assessment can feel like a big step for families, and that some children may feel nervous.
My approach is calm, warm and child-centred. I take time to understand the whole child, including their strengths, difficulties, learning history and views where appropriate.
The assessment is not about catching a child out. It is about understanding how they learn, recognising what they do well, and identifying the support that may help them feel more confident and successful.
More than a Report
A full diagnostic assessment includes more than testing and a written report.
My full assessment package includes clear feedback, a child-friendly outcome letter and support with next steps, so families feel confident about what happens after the assessment.
Recommendations that make sense at home and in school
Assessment reports need to be accurate, but they also need to be useful.
My recommendations are designed to be practical and realistic, so that parents and schools can understand the child’s needs and know what to do next. Where appropriate, findings can also support conversations around classroom support and exam access arrangements.
